A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §5F-1-5, relating to a requirement that two legislators serve as nonvoting, ex-officio members on all nonlicensing boards and commissions, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Delegates and the President of the Senate, respectively.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §5F-1-5, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS.

§5F-1-5. Member requirement on nonlicensing boards and commissions.

    (a) Two legislators shall serve on all nonlicensing boards and commissions.

    (b) The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Delegates will each appoint one legislator for membership on each nonlicensing board and commission.

    (c) The legislators appointed to serve on nonlicensing boards and commissions are nonvoting, ex officio members.


    NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that two members of the Legislature, appointed by the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate, respectively, serve as nonvoting, ex officio members on all nonlicensing boards and commissions.
